Drake received a lot of criticism for his previous album 'Honestly, Nevermind'. Critics found it uninspiring and claimed the project's title perfectly exemplified the rapper's attitude in the studio during its production. As a wavy house/dance album, it worked well but felt odd among a discography previously exclusively hip hop and R&B. The rapper's newest album is a complete 180. In collaboration with 21 Savage, Her Loss contains a plethora of dark, angry beats and arrogant bars. Most tracks contain back-and-forth verses between Drake and 21 Savage, and both rappers sound hungrier than they've been all year.
